Most people who get in touch have known for a while that something needs to change. Life is functioning, but not how they want it to.

Registered psychologist with doctoral-level training

This practice is led by a psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and holding Chartered status with the British Psychological Society. Doctoral-level training in counselling psychology — distinct from standard therapeutic training — means clinical work is grounded in research, supervised practice, and formulation-led thinking.

Over 16 years of clinical experience across the lifespan

Clinical experience here spans NHS acute inpatient services, community mental health, CAMHS, education, and local authority social care — including child protection and children in care settings. Working across the full span of human experience, from early childhood through to complex adult presentations, builds a clinical perspective that shapes how every piece of work is approached.

Neuro-affirming assessments using gold-standard clinical instruments

ADHD and autism assessments are conducted by an experienced psychologist using gold-standard clinical instruments. Assessments are thorough, neuro-affirming, and grounded in current research and clinical frameworks.

Evidence-based practice in everyday language

This practice works with clients from diverse backgrounds across the full range of life experience. Translating clinical thinking into accessible, practical terms is central to how the work is done.

Why people come here

Some things don't resolve on their own.

You may have been functioning well for years, career intact, responsibilities managed, while something underneath has quietly accumulated. A version of yourself you haven’t quite been able to reach. Experiences that were never properly processed and are still, in some way, running in the background.

Or you’ve reached a point where clarity feels urgent. Where understanding what’s actually going on, and doing something about it, matters more than managing around it.

What clients say

In their own words

“I came not really knowing what to expect having experienced burnout at work which was affecting my personal life. Dr King really listened  and helped me make sense of things. He helped me develop tools which helped me get my life back on track. He helped me become me again.

S.M. · Therapy client

“I was nervous about going for an ADHD assessment, however the process was detailed, professional, and I felt parts of my life was handled with care. The report was clear and detailed and for the first time things started to click into place which provided me with a better understanding of me. I wish I had done it years ago.”

R.T. · Assessment client

“Dr King came recommend as I was sceptical about whether therapy could actually help with what I was dealing with. What I got was someone who genuinely listened and helped me make sense of things I had been carrying for years in a practical way, and never made me feel judged. I didn’t think change like this was possible.”
